Is it really free?
Yes — with one condition. ProDesk is free as long as you stay available to Service Connection and FieldDirect customers. You don't have to accept every job, but you do need to stay listed and open to inquiries. If you close your availability entirely, a software fee may apply.
What does "staying available" actually mean?
It means your profile is listed and open to inquiries in Service Connection and FieldDirect. That's it. You set your own prices, you choose which jobs to accept, and you can decline anything that doesn't fit. There's no lead fee, no pay-per-click, no chasing refunds. The only thing you're agreeing to is the possibility of getting work.
Is the network available in my area?
Coverage varies by location and trade and is actively expanding. We won't claim there's active volume in every market. You'll see what's available in your area once your account is set up.
What if I don't want to be available?
You can pause your availability at any time — though a software fee may apply if you're not listed in either network. Most contractors just stay available. There's no downside to being listed — no lead fees, no charges per inquiry. The only thing you risk is someone wanting to hire you.
Are there payment processing fees?
Yes. Online payments are processed through Stripe at standard rates (typically 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction). This is a Stripe fee, not a ProDesk fee.
Is there a limit on estimates or invoices?
No. Unlimited estimates, unlimited invoices, unlimited customers and jobs. The full platform is available without usage caps.
